Before I start writing my thoughts on All Your Perfects down, I want to speak about the questionable book cover and how it made the life of three people I know – including myself – difficult.
I want to thank my friend for laminating the cover before gifting the book to me, she knows firsthand on how embarrassing the whole reading journey was because of it. I mean, please, two people are literally KISSING on the cover, and we grew up in a side of the world where all uncomfortable romance scenes were cut off for us by the censor board so I can’t stress this enough on how wrong we felt by simply holding the book. Another friend of mine painted the cover with red nail paint – clearly we don’t care how we destroy the book as long as it saves us from irreversible embarrassment.
So… whoever designs book covers, please consider our struggles before you publish something like this again.
Ok, now, let’s get back the book review – the reason you started reading this in the first place. All Your Perfects was really a complicating book to review, because as much as the female character in the book annoyed me, the story taught me many lessons on love, bonding and marriages too.
“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.”
This quote probably sums up the whole story. It revolves around how you’ll never really find happiness if you keep shining light over you flaws, and I really liked this point about the story…
2.5/5 stars. A quick & easy read that you can talk about a lot.
